Hello. I am Michael A. Donawa, a Bermudian National. I have been coaching track and field continuously for seven years. My involvement in the sport spans over thirty years. I was coached and mentored by Brazilian Joaquim Cruz, in the 800m's. I have participated in IAAF and Lydiard coaching courses and actively work with other professionals to enhance coaching resources.
I am very excited about coaching the Emerald Valley Track Club. It has a very rich tradition in Eugene. I am looking forward to working with all the members and helping to cultivate an environment that is conducive for learning, performance and fun.
I attended university in Kansas and Southern California, where I studied Biology. Later, I spent six years as a Police Detective in Bermuda, before moving to San Diego to study and pursue athletics. I have been living in Oregon since 2010 and Eugene since 2011. When not coaching, I am a practicing Massage Therapist and Phlebotomist. On occasions I do some ranching!
